Report from
Terenure Show, 6th July 2008.
For the first
time in a number of years, the club this year took its own stand at the
annual Irish Jaguar and Daimler Club classic car show held in Terenure
College grounds, Terenure, Dublin. Despite an inclement early morning,
by 10:30 the sun came out and stayed for the entire day. Approximately
800 to 1000 cars were in attendance and all the car clubs were
represented. A large public attendance was also evident. Leslie Girvan
(our member from Newry) brought along an acceptable vehicle - a Daimler
Dart, beautifully restored. We also had a member from Dublin with a
magnificent, black XK120 fhc. Several members from Cork brought a fine
array of cars, ranging from Mk2s, S-Types, XJS 6.0, and XKR, and an E-Type Series 2 fhc.
The club on
the day received many queries from potential new members. Thanks to all
who helped to make the event successful.
