Report from trip to Sneem, County Kerry, 5th-6th September 2009.

The last outing of the year took place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of September at the new hotel (Sneem Hotel) in Sneem, Co. Kerry. This event started on Friday night with dinner. The following day, Saturday, we drove from Sneem up the mountain road to Glencar on the Iveragh Peninsula, stopping briefly, then continuing on to Waterville. From Waterville we drove to Caherdaniel, stopping for lunch at the home of Daniel O'Connell at Derrynane. We enjoyed the video presentation and the visit to the house, which contained several pieces of furniture, silver, and personal artifacts of Daniel O'Connell. Returning to the hotel, we had dinner at 8pm. On Sunday morning, the weather wasn't quite as kind to us as we drove along the Ring of Kerry, stopping at the Mills Hotel in Ballyvourney for lunch.
