Photos from trip to Ballylickey, West Cork, 30th-31st March 2010.

The first event of the year on the 30th and 31st of March, where we returned again to the Seaview House Hotel in Ballylickey. Some of the members travelled on Friday night, and the balance arrived on Saturday morning. The big difference this year, of course, was the wonderful weather. We left the hotel on Saturday morning at 11:30 and in the charge of our esteemed members Hazel and John McCarthy we drove through Bantry and onto Goats Path, where we stopped briefly on the peninsula looking out over Dunmanus Bay on our right and Bantry Bay on our left. We continued driving through the village of Kilcrohane and onto Sheep's Head, enjoying spectacular views of the Irish coastline. We stopped briefly for tea and coffee and a short walk. Back into the cars again, and we continued on to Durrus, where we stopped for lunch at the Good Things Cafe. We returned to the hotel and had dinner that night.

The following morning, after a wonderful breakfast, we said goodbye to the Seaview Hotel and were taken into care by Michael and Mary Mullins. We drove over the mountains to the Motor Museum at Kilgarvan, where we were met by John Mitchell, owner of the museum. While the female members of the group enjoyed tea and coffee, the more enthusiastic members perused the cars and motor memorabilia on display. Being a car club, John very kindly invited us to his workshop where he is currently working on two wonderful Rolls Royce Corniches. The museum is certainly worth a visit if you are in that part of the country, and I think John deserves the support to keep this going. Leaving the museum, we went over the pass and on to Ballyvourney. Again, spectacular views and wonderful driving roads. We stopped for a late lunch at The Mills in Ballyvourney. At approximately 4:30 the event came to a close and we returned home.

Again, many thanks to John and Hazel, Michael and Mary, and of course John and Jackie for organising the hotel.
