JEC Minutes of Meeting                                                                 July 2009

1)      Classic Car Show Terenure – Club met on Saturday 4th and visited Spirit Motor Group, who sponsored the bringing over of the Jaguar D Type from Jaguar Heritage Trust in the UK. The D Type took pride of place on the JEC stand along with Barrie Graham’s newly rebuilt XK120. Over 20 cars were on the stand. Our thanks to Tony O’Keeffe of the Jaguar Heritage Trust for arranging for the  D Type to be present.  A DVD was recorded of the various members who had the privilege of driving the D type.

We would like to say a special thank you to Miriam Sheehan for her delicious picnic on the day of the show.  Also to Pat O’Brien who organised a trip to see Jim Boland’s collection of over 70 cars on the following Monday.

2)      The joint IJDC and the JEC event at Carrick – On-Suir on the 16^th August.  The exact venue is to be announced shortly.  JEC members are meeting in the car park of the Radisson, Little Island at 9.30 on Sunday 16^th for departure at 10.00.

3)      Sneem trip on the 5/6^th September.  See events calendar for more details.

4)      Andrew Lordan officially resigned as Treasurer.  Pat O’Brien was elected to the position .

5)      Club is planning to purchase a large Gazebo/Marquee for future events.  A draw will take place on the weekend of the Sneem trip and all members were asked to contribute a small prize – limit of €10. 

6)      Trip to Stoneleigh Spares Day.  See events calendar for details.
